This song definitely has an excess of fills, but if you pay enough attention to the song there is plenty of other things in this song to make it clear that this man was actually a bit of a musical genius. The way some parts sound with an orchestra backing up a distortion guitar is freaking unbelievable to the point that it degrades every other type of metal for not being able to capture such amazing sound.

@PedrosBeenJaminYngwie is an amazing guitarist. So amazing in fact he has as you point out become cocky. When somebody is over confident they become arrogant. Arrogance then results in lazyiness, and that is the problem with Yngwie's later style of playing. Melodies are joined together with fills because it's easy. Yngwie most amazing album which is full of melody and feeling is his album entitled 'Angels of Love'. That album proves he is an amazing musician. He just needs to revisit his roots.
