They are reaaaallly different styles, so it's really fucked up to say that one is better than the other

Much more mature and talented guitarist than Howe and of course much younger. Extremely unique producer . He took Yes music and combined talent with good taste. He was part of the golden years of Yes.

I saw this tour and it's funny how Rabin and Howe didn't seem to make it a competition. Get this...two different guitarists, two different styles blending together beautifully. And both solo sections were fantastic.

Ok, I like Yes music from the Steve Howe era the best, and I may usually prefer Steve Howe just because of his extreme uniqueness, but Trevor Rabin kicks all kinds of ass. Anyone who denies that is only saying so because they refuse to listen to him with an open mind.

Hey LifeGrove, I´d just like to add that music is harder to judge or measure than other subjects. I actually prefer feeling and taste, that´s why I love Rabin´s riff in "Love will Find the Way" it just stays in your mind... imagine what would be a harder challenge, to play fast or to find your own language... another problem is we are comparing guitarrists from different generations.

Steve Howe gave us Mood For A Day. Trevor Rabin gave us Solly's Beard. Steve Howe gave us Close to the Edge. Trevor Rabin gave us Owner of a Lonely Heart. Can you draw the conclusion?? Being fast is nothing to being innovative and interesting. If you want fast check out the thrashing of Eddie Van Halen, Greg Howe and Jason Becker. When you are bored to death with that come back to Howe.

It´s funny, I think Rabin is a lot faster and creative than Howe in terms of fingers... but Howe´s style and sound is just so unique, you´ll always know it is he who´s playing, something that doesn´t happen with Rabin.

Doesn't anyone have any footage of Trevor Rabin when he was the lead in the great South African band, Rabbitt ?

It's just that both Howe and Rabin have their own unique styles and it wouldn't be fair to say that one was better than the other. Rabin is a good solid lead solo player, Howe on the other hand is better with chords and finger-picking styles than Rabin.

Rabin leaves Howe asking how? I like some of the parts Howe has invented but technically and overall musically TR has him licked. Life sucks and we enjoy that it does because it brings joy (and sadly sadness to some). Howe can't be best for all - nor can Rabin...

Again to those who call the Rabin v Howe arguement......in a way Trevor Rabin represents (a certain dated 1980`s) modernity....but would it not be for Steve Howe that there was a modernity to aspire to?
