Why are people so critical? His playing is wonderful. No one is perfect. Perfection is not reality. We are all human and we should appreciate that he is a highly accomplished musician. "Even the best fall down some time." FANTASTIC PERFORMANCE !!!!!!!

You know, you're right. At THIS level, the smallest things are important. Thank you for the comment.

@CleverDjembeActually mate, I am listening to the music - and it's possible to do that as well as caring about the notes at the same time. I complimented him on his performance, but when you're playing a piece like this at this level people are bound to be critical of every note you play. I would bet, to the standard he would hold himself to, if he went back and watched this he'd probably go "oh crap" when he heard it. It could have been an intentional ghost breath though so meh

okay yes he missed a note around 2:50, but really, that is pretty much the toughest part of the song. its written 7 32nd note inbetween the melody which is an octave lower... thats hard!

and at 2:33 - 34 too I think.Still insane though

I'm pretty terrible at trumpet. But I completely agree with you. When he jumps octaves like that so easily it makes me cry. I wish I could control my armature and air like that. Sigh.

At Paul Pollard of the metropolitan opera played it on a bass trombone; it was perfect

Then from what I can tell, you learned to play trumpet incorrectly, fast fingers and range aren't important at all if you don't have the tongue, tone quality, and air to back it up, but obviously, hot air is no problem for you.

Do you know the finger speed it takes to do that correctly? And, if you weren't so blind you'd see that I was talking about learning to play the trumpet, not THIS PIECE. Obviously, the octave jumps and triple-tonguing is the hardest to accomplish in Carnival of Venice, but you still have to have some madly quick fingers.
