I think the logo on the lower right was created because of the advent of video recording and the fear that it would be copied and sold. With the logo being there permanently, it would discourage this act. That's what I heard once as the reason for this.

I remember being at my Grandma's house watching tv in the "tv" room and all the adults were around the dining room table eating cake and drinking coffee..God do I miss those days! This TV intro sure brings it all back..just like sitting at Grams

burbank, perfectly said. This vid was from an era when each NYC local network had a unique character and identity. This was also long before they had the obnoxious station ID logo constantly in the lower right of the screen. Those ID logos are needed today because, in an age when the weather channel shows documentaries instead of weather and the history channel has reality shows, you can no longer tell by the content of the programming what network you are watching.

i think they were airing this as late as the late 80's. My dad has this indent on video-tape from around that time

Sadly it is the 25 seconds that are costing them. Since most of these stations are owned and operated by corporate moguls and networks that are extremely profit conscious, sadly such bumpers are a thing of the past. it is about ratings and money. They do not even run credits now with these fast forward split screens.

Yep. I agree. But I guess its ALL ABOUT THE MONEY now. Those 25 seconds can bring in alot of revenue for the networks. Especially now since they do the "split screen" crap with the ending credits.I do miss these promos though. They were cool. There were quite a few good ones out there but I think the ones by WPIX (ch. 11 New York) were my favorites.

Não é que eu esteja reclamando de nada não, mas a paradinha que ocorre em 0:20 estraga a vinheta. Você não teria a mesma sem que a paradinha ocorra?

Why are these so much better than anything on tv now ? These bumpers were nice to listen to when they were new. If they put this back on now ,people would love it . Is it the 25 seconds thats costing them,i really dont get it..

"It sure was for the late 70's also. I remember that classic lineup: Action News followed by The Odd Couple at 11pm, The Honeymooners at 11:30pm, Star Trek at midnight and The Twilight Zone at 1am "And just try finding that kind of classic lineup on any cable or broadcast channel today. In the late 70s I was just a kid and my bedtime was at 9pm. So I wasnt allowed to be up that late, but I remember the afternoon reruns of classic tv shows. Sweet memories indeed!
