Actually, the "new york" part of this graphic was eliminated in the months leading up to WOR's moving its city of license to Secaucus. There was an editorial reply from c.February 1983 (when WOR was still licensed to NYC) put up by 'robatsea2008' where the 'new york' was likewise missing.

It's actually elsewhere on here, just do a search for "9 All Night" and it should come up.

A similar verison of this music bed was used on WJBF-TV Augusta, Ga in the 1970's without the horn flourish, just the teletype sounding part. I'm sure its probalby from some production music disc of the era..

I always used to find it amusing when someone would come on and speak out against child abuse or wifebeating or something and it would be followed by the "...views expressed are not necessarily those of..." disclaimer.

I prefer the 1976 version of this indent! Please bring it back! I also miss the 4:00 movie indent with the jazzy music and the pink, blue and green colors in them..

I believe this is from 1983 or 1984 shortly after their move to Secaucus, NJ from NYC.

Love the WOR stuff. I am trying to find the "Nine All Night" parts 1 & 2 promo. tvnewsman had it posted but he closed up shop. Anyone know where I could find it?

You are correct...apparently, I had Mallie's spiel confused w/the one given by Bob Jordan in that WOR editorial reply clip. How do I know? It seems tvnewsman just reposted the Mallie close as part of his latest batch. :-)

Amen to that...and he's gone one better, not only posting some brand-new clips, but also extended versions of older ones. Well worth the wait! :-)

Well, at least The Point has finally ended, following the demise of Sinclair's NewsCentral experiment earlier that yr...Hyman claimed it was to spend more time w/his kids, but funny how his last commentary came just a coupla wks after Election Day...coincidence??

Now to express the opinion of the ident & the music of WOR-TV Editorial, that is TOO COOL!!!! When our family subscribed to Comcast in the early 80's in the Detroit area, I remember WOR-TV, New York. One of my favourite stations back in the 1980's (one of the reasons why I'm a Mets fan). Around 1992, Comcast Detroit decided to ditch WOR for WGN, Chicago. Needless to say, I never watched that channel to this day. What a bummer!
