tanes you are partly right, but britain had also signed a treaty 70 years before with Belgium and Guareented their security and protection with this pact, and like WW2 britain kept to its word declaring war on Germany as they were about to invade belgium in 1914.

On May, 7th, 1915 the Lusitania set sail without protection; her course was charted for a known German submarine nest. As expected, the hit from a single German torpedo caused an explosion so great (from the explosives on board ship) that the Lusitania went down in only 18 minutes, carrying nearly a thousand men, women, children and infants to their death.

In the case of the Lusitania, the German government had pre-paid for adds to be placed in fifty newspapers, mostly on the east coast, warning Americans not to sail on the Lusitania. Of all the papers, only the Des Moines Register published the warning on the requested date. The U.S. State Department frightened publishers by raising the possibility of liable suites if they published without prior clearance from State Department attorneys.

It started when a leader of Austria-hungary got assassinated and then Austria wanted to go in Serbia then Serbia said no and then they called for a war then Serbia called for help from the UK and UK had an alliance called Triple Entente w/ France, UK, and Russia and Austria called for Germanys help and thats how the war started, and Canada was taken over by the UK back then.

hard to believe that if when hitler was gassed if he would of died, then there most likely wouldnt of been a holocaust or even a ww2(with germany) Since he lead the germans from rubble to riches back to rubble again, then germany was restored after the 80's.

You're absolutley right, LietenantGJ, Germany was humiliated and destroyed after WWI, and Hitler made it powerful and united. He probably could have gone down in history as one of the greatist rulers of all time. However, there is absolutley no defending him of course, because he was one of the most evil rulers of all time and ended up destroying his country's power, credibility, international trust, and the prosperity and unity he brought to Germany, which would never fully recover for decades.

it started with germany invading france i think then since france and the uk somehow had an alliance the uk steped in and that's how cannada got in then so on and so forth alot of countries get in then in 1917 the americans finally get involved for the last couple of monhs of the war because since they were neutral for most of the war they looked bad and got in

It's sad to see how a war, at a time where weaponry was nowhere like today's, can be still be so violent.

We should never feel pride about fighting a war, it's a despicable act and brings out the worst qualities in human beings. Unfortunately war is sometimes necessary, and we should be thankful to those who fight in them, for doing what they had to do, but we should never be proud of the loss of countless human lives.

This was just after Russia had exited the war so the German troops were reinforced with many troops from the Eastern front to the Western front. they had to do something before the USA joined.
