it depends of depth. Down in the ocean you have a kind of mud, por in oxigen. If it still there, is intact. No corrosion, because not oxidant.

The nacelles for the engines were different. Do a search on Google for B-50 images and you'll see the difference.

great plane, great vid. I was wondering if you can tell a B-29 from a B-50 by just looking at it from a picture? I'm dying to figure out if my grandfather was on a B-29 or a B-50 and he passed away and no one in my family knows much

Likely yes depending just where this happened. Thou 60 plus years of being in salt water you can forget about putting that baby back in the air.

The B 29 was a partially untested plane rushed into production it was quite treacherous in its early variants If u think it looks bad crash landing just imagine it crashing on take off fully loaded as it often did...despite this it was used as part of t repatriation craft at war's end & later became known as a very forgiving craft once its bugs were ironed out...

High octane aviation gasolene turned them into flying 'molotov coctails'. Gun cam films often showed them as flying fireballs. In the C-119 I could often smell the odor of Gasolene. Difficult to keep it from leaking out at times.

Wow, thank you so much for posting. Have any more like this? It was amazing to see how the water folded over the props on that ditch. I absolutely love this plane, my grandfather was the tailgunner on one.
