true, the new one is really creepy in comparison to this one, but i actually liked all the actors in the new one better except for:grandpa joewilly wonka (man he was just SCARY, but kinda funny)mrs. bucket (no more cheer up, charlie, that song was beautiful :'( )on the other hand, i thot mike and veruca and agustus were great lol i dont really like the new violet tho, too mean and b*tchy

OK this movie is amazing, but i just got the point of it a few days ago...The 5 kids who got picked all have different personalitys (greedy,bratty,braggy,tv watcher,sweet) amd wonka wanted to pick these specific people to see which won is most loyal to own the factory at the end. slugworth is really fake, and works for wonka and wonka prolly told him to bring these specific kids here to see which won. then slugworth told every kid about the gobstops and which ever won kept it got the factory
