I was born with read/write disabilities. Today i speak 3 languages. My father was abusive and drank a lot, i only got formal education when i was 20. I learned to read and write mostly on my own. Today i earn more than the average norwegian, and i pay a lot of taxes. But i do so gladly because in any other system, i would not have survived. I now have two great children that does very well: top in maths, art and sports. It took 10 years extra for me, but the system works. Hate is removed by care

People become criminals because there are holes in their reasoning. They need examples of just and good people, then the mind will repair itself. Treat people like animals, and they become animals. I believe it was these principles America was founded on, with liberty and justice for all. We assoc. wellfare with sickness, hence it is reserved for those that needs to heal. It's not a perfect system. But a person ruined becomes a cancer cell.. so the faster we heal, the better.

nipsixaThat is very intresting cuase I looked it up. Norway has a VERY low amount of people who use welfare. Here in the US their are people who are 3rd Generation welfare recipients.I personally don't mind sharing, I do mind being forced to support others.

I guess it depends on what kind of place you want to live. I dont mind working for others, and to share what i have - as long as it goes both ways. And when there is no pressure from loosing work, sickleave etc. - you dont sit around wanting to be sick. And it wont be sharing when it's my mother, my grandparents, my children that are safe. But norway is different perhaps. We still kling to an old norse codex: odin hates injustice and shame on those that cheat :)

nipsixaThe way the US is set up is a lot different. This is a union of states. Each state has its own GOV. What is legal in Texas(my home state) might be illegal in Massachusetts. For example the Death Penalty. Texas has it Massachusetts doesn't. So if a person kidnaps and murders someone in Texas and runs to Massachusetts they have to be extradited to the state of Texas to stand trial. At which time the person will try to prove the murder was committed outside of Texas

nipsixawe have more parties than I can count. But most don't have the clout or the money to make enough headway to get noticed. And the media are concerned about ratings so they don't follow them very closely.

But I can't really complain considering that I haven't really paid for health care in the last 10 years. But that is just me. I play the game as it is created by the guys who write the rules. Now if they change the rules it won't make things better but it will make things worse.

Also, why do you only have 2 parties? Our system allows for a new party to be registered for election if they have 3000 members. Then it's down to the vote who get's X seats in government. But the gov must include all parties up for election, that way everyone must be heard. But norway is different from say spain or italy.. they are nuts in MHO.

nipsixa Wealth i ie money is little more than a frozen form of productive energy. Basically what ever I get paid per hour. Now I work about 13 hours overtime every week. I don't care to share my 13 hours with someone who is sitting home watching TV.Their are many solutions to the problem of high cost. The US spends 16% of our GDP on healthcareWhile Canada only spends 10% It is the high cost of GOV regulation which is running up the bills.

I have noticed that when talking to americans. Not one of them trusts their own gov. The system we have is not that different, except that we have free healthcare, payed sickleave etc. This takes the edge of falling ill. You can then focus on getting better, studying without worry and do your best at work because you want to. I could not imagine how hard it must be to get sick in america if you dont have insurance. That said, we pay tax through our noses. Wealth is more shared.

....... I don't trust Bush or I don't trust Obama.I don't trust anyone that would want to be president. Their is nobody on the face of the earth I would trust with that position. And a lot of Americans to one degree or another feel the same way. Were as in many nations it is the opposite. They don't trust a certain politician.Take the 2008 election. Obama only won by 10,000,000 votes. In a nation of 300,000,000 People

nipsixa It really isn't a Euro vs US thing. People just see the world differently. Even as children we noticed that our parents didn't see eye to eye on every aspect. One of the reason the US is seen so negative is cause of the Media. Americans have a very negative view of the GOV. Let me expand on that. Not just a negative view of the whores that run the GOV but the GOV in General.I don't trust a GOV official. But to someone from another nation this translates into........

@Candelario: Agreed. Im not sure how this became a "europe vs. america" thing. We have loads of things that still needs fixing :) The original foundation of the US is very positive. But sadly (and this is the root of the desperateness i sense in some americans) lobbyists and co-operations seem now have the power to write their own laws - and cheat the weak. Like i said, we could all do with a tuneup these days, get rid of the rats on every ship. Honesty, hard work and safety for all.

nipsixaCase in point. It is common to think that their is a correct answer to every problem. That is not the case in the US. A lot of times I might not have the correct answer to a problem. So I have to settle for the next best thing.

nipsixa But to this day the same system still permeates European thought. For example it is common in Europe for people to think that the answer to a problem is best solved by the people who are in charge. While in the US it is common for people just to take matters into their own hands. That is why Americans are always seen as "Cowboys". To be honest I never ever thought of Cowboys in a negative way until I started to study European Business practices

This was based on the esoteric aspects of christianity which drew inspiration from the organization of the solar system. This in turn was interited from rome. The sun and the moon were seen as "king and queen of heaven" who in turn is mirrored in the human body as the pineal gland and the medulla oblongata. It was thus regarded as "natural". You will find the church being the biggest force behind this (sadly), hence the orders and seals of mandate used in shivalry.

andrtakerActually the same can be said about Europe. I have seen videos of people fighting and killing each other over sporting events. And LA isn't a good example of gang violence it is dominated by Mexican Gangs.

nipsixaActually it was the feudal system which was Europe biggest problem. And for the most part it has been replaced by socialism. Instead of people working for the benefit of a king. They now toil for the benefit of the masses.
