Is it so difficult to try to understand smo else's opinion , way of seeing things etc ?Ppl here who asked if autism is a real disease . How many times have you seen smo on the street that you have labelled "retarded " cos u didn't understand his/her behavior ? gosh , i'm not autistic but one doesn't need to be to understand the condition . Have some compassion ,broaden ur view of the world ,educate urself. Smo u love could have that condition too.

I'm so sorry you see this. I saw a young boy being made fun of horribly as well. He was picked on and physically beaten. And no one did anything about it. I felt awful. I would have said something, but I honestly too intimidated to say anything. I blame my Asperger's. And I was hated just as much as he was as well. :'( Very sad.

Hate is a choice. Love is a choice. My asperger's did a lot to make my life miserable for a lot of years, but it did not define me as a person. I am who I choose to be. I challenge you to choose to be what you can be.

Well, autism is not mental-retardation. In reality, many of them have either normal or above-average intelligence. However, the media doesn't want to play it because the portrial of autistics as people who are suffering and are mentally retarded is a ratings goldmine for many stations. The media doesn't care about the well-being of others, just ratings.
