Yes- dropped! They resussitated my husband kept him alive on machines, never being honest re the fact that he wil NEVER recover. I want to scream when I hear about "rehab". M had more rehab than most. 7 mos and then outpatient at our hospital's outpatient rehab. But for the last 1 1/2 yrs, we've been on our own. No help with care giving in our State. Eventually family and friends go on with their own lives and time brings forgetfulness to them. But for us, the struggle goes on.

God bless the wonderful doctors, nurses, therapists, CNAs, etc. As terribly painful as this has been for us to see Mom go through this, these wonderfully, loving people make each day so much easier. That we may one day focus on TBI research and healing in this country would be a blessing to so many victims and their families.

My mother is 18 months post injury. She's a very young 65. We just recently learned she suffered from normal-pressure hydrocephalus. She is showing great strides in her improvement since the shunt was put in in December '08.

As a survivor of a brain injury, this video hit close to home. I started off in a coma and when I woke up I progressed to using a wheelchair. Eventually transitioning to using a cane. As stated in the video, brain injury is in many ways swept under the rug in regards to the medical discussion.

I was in a collision on my bicycle with a truck followed by 22 days in a coma. Truth is - keeping positive intentions is what healing is all about, for survivors and community. Had everyone I know inviting my spirit back into my body, worked. Now I can walk again, talk kinda slurred, think, play piano, remember little things. Just keep the intention up, watching all these videos and reading the comments can be hard, make healing your inention!

My husband suffered from TBI after an accident in Dec 05. He was in a coma for a few months and woke up paralyzed. We were told he would never be able to walk, talk, or do anything he ever did before. They were WRONG! I brought him home and we participated in non-traditional therapies and he is now living proof that one can survive! He is back as a auto graphic/customizing artist and is 100% independent. Never give up on yourself and most importantly, never give up on the patient!

I'm a clinical neuropsychologist and neuroscientist, working w/ brain injury rehabilitation, and I get emotioned when I saw this video, but even more happy when I read those comments here! All you deserve congratulations. The mainly part of the rehab process depends on you, so you most go on, though we know sometimes it's difficult. However, each result compensates everything. Keep on trying! My best regards.
