It's funny hearing the V/O say "How Stella Got Her Groove Back."I remember this fondly for "ER Theater."

Yep! That old intro was used from 1992 until 2008 when it was replaced by a new intro with new opening graphics.

Does anybody know the one about the man who can't sleep. There's noise like cats and car alarms and he is so angry you think he's going to become another David Berkowitz - UNTIL the TV comes on with the late night movie. Its a very short clay animation. PLEASE does anybody know what station that was. I'm pretty sure its something VHF.

For some reason, WABC NY just changed the graphics for this intro. The music is the same, but the graphics are different.

I guess this will be the "intro" that brings back memories twenty or thirty years from now, for the young people coming up today.

As I recall they used the same one they used for the old 4:30 movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzDngYSQ40Y

I'm sure it was a network design and distributed to all the syndicates. This graphic probably cost a pretty penny back then.

Correct, I date it to 1990 based on a VHS tape I have. What's interesting is Ch. 7 still uses announcers to voice the opening, as well as the "return to" slide.

This actually got started around 1992. I remember very well when it was first used.
