but this is not the case here. The cops were not arresting them, they were discussing with both the father and son. They were both drunk and the son pushed the cop twice before this video started. The cops tried to cuff the son and thats when the dad went crazy and started fighting with the cop he was with. They both admitted in a court of law that they were intoxicated.I believe they both should have been given felony jail time.

Well it looks like the son was just found guilty for resisting arrest and assault on an officer. The father was scorned by the judge but acquitted of his actions. Both were drunk at the scene, from their own admittance. I think the judge was acting out of respect of the fire department and wanted to quell the cop vs firefighter sentiment.

Just one more comment before I shut down comments for good on this video. -----------------------------------------------------------I'm sure 99% of the time the two that were fighting with the cops are more than likely great people. I'm sure if they had to do it all over again they would. The father was a honored retired firefighter, the son an aspiring actor. They made a mistake, like I'm sure we all have in the past.

read up on this topic in the canadian news. The two combatants started wrestling with the cops, the cops did all they could do to get them to comply. The cops stopped once the perps stopped resisting. I was there. ;)

Yet another reason why I've cut back drinking. I don't want to be anything like these douche bags. Cops doing the right thing, no big deal. By the way, Vancouver rules.

You gonna put on my gear and go into a burning building with no training? Cops are trained to deal with that, and paid to. Fire fighters are not.

Admit you made a mistake, admit you were drunk, check into free rehab, and then apologize to everyone you have created grief for. Personally apologize to the cops that you made restrain you...how friggen embarrassing must that have been for the cops. Apologize to your fellow fire fighters and apologize to your son. You fucked up, not get on with it.

funny how the firemen stand around while the police have to fight with this asshole, yet if a fireman was in trouble the police would be the first to rush in and help, hmmmm. Oh, it's not our job to fight people, that's the police's "job". Way to go you pussies.

I think the fireman is pointing out that one shouldn't hit a gentleman on the head with a nightstick whilst he is pinned down and already suitably restrained, and the policeman is perhaps threatening to kill the fireman's family.
