I'm sorry to disagree with your opinion, but I play both flute and tuba, and they're both unique and difficult in their own way. Although, I've always thought that I've used more air while playing the tuba...it definately feels like it.

Actually, because the flute is basically a hollow piece of metal, air escapes from the instrument itself faster, thus requiring more air. Yes, I realize this was 3 weeks ago, I just love to do this kind of thing. (:

This is the only man in the world that has made a total career on solo tuba performance...He went to LMU TN on his tour in the US...Luckly the director at LMU brought him down to our highschool Union Count High School where he gave a free master class to the tuba and baritone students from the surrounding schools and colleges it was a honor

I think he has a different horn now because there is a video of him owning the Vaughn Williams Tuba Concerto and the horn is not the same one, at least it doesn't look like it.

@bboyquicksproduction I remember right after I found out about Baadsvik I heard of what tuba he had recently gotten, if this is that tuba, then it is an Eb Miraphone Norwegian Star, I believe.

@Fujishigi There are no multiphonics in the song. It's all tonguing and slurring, if you get a chance look at the Arban arrangement for Carnival of Venice and you will see what it is really like.

definitely more pleasant to listen to on tuba. At least w/ mr. Baadsvik playing it. Wynton Marsalis's version is yes played perfectly but trumpet double tonguing sounds too punchy, too forced. That's one thing I like about tuba. If you want double tonguing to sound good it HAS to be smooth. And Oystein Baadsvik's multiple tonguing definitely is.
