Jim Caldwell is a cross between Donald Trump and Fran Tarkenton.

Well, I do agree, but have you seen Patrick Wayne's version of TTD? He made Jim look like Wink by comparison.

Wink Martindalee was the BEST host that Tic Tac Dough EVER had during it's run, Jim Caldwell was out of place as the replacement host for the show after they remodeled the studio where they taped the show.

Jim's a good guy - he was a bit nervous in the beginning and made some blunders, but eventually turned out to do very well for himself with Top Card and now with his own company.

That was quite quick there. They seemed like good players but Dan's ego probably got the better of him. It seems just as an observation, the games got shorter as the run went on because these wins are coming alot quicker. Jim seemed to be okay here; he is not obnoxious but he just needs a while to became a good host. A good host doesn't always sprout over night as we have seen. Although having 3 red catagories is too much I feel and no wonder Kim mentions them so often.

I'm with you there. Those old Apple II's did some amazing things back then.

he left to host (and co-produce) Headline Chasers, which, ironically, was cancelled at the same time as TTD.
