what do you think of a small diesel turbine generating electricity for an "in-series" electric car?would the reliability and efficiency of a constant speed turbine driving a generator be cleaner than an current diesel engines?

"If he says that government can solve a social or civil issue he's a whack job"like school prayer or gay marriage?I agree with you there but don't those advocates have an R in front of their names?Understand, I don't give a shit either way but I do feel compelled to shine the light of reality on those entrenched in fox news ideology. You can't have it both ways... well, unless your bi-sexual (which, as an American, you can do what ever you want if it doesn't infringe on my rights :-)

And if you don't want euro style government and euro style don't vote for a demorat. Because if you keep voting for people with a (D) before their name your going to get them. Pay attention to what a politician says. If he believes in global warming that's your first clue he's a whack job. If he says that government can solve a social or civil issue that's clue number two.

Modern Diesel formulas make less pollution than gasoline. And VW has a catalizer that not only doesn't require Palladium, but also doesn't restrict the exhaust flow, that is pacifically designed for it Diesel engines. Making a diesel cleaner that a gas engine.

we sure as heck fire don't need no European style government programs here, right?. If gas is as expensive here as it is over there maybe it would be ok to spread the pollution around from that 75mpg diesel. You're saying we have to be socialist to get good gas mileage. Who's the liberal now?

If we could use euro-Diesels here we could possibly get even better. With an electrical assist motor like the setup used in the Honda Insight The numbers would top 100 MPG.Fiat built a concept car that achieved an astonishing 1 liter per 100 Km fuel consumption. That's in the realm of 230 mpg.But no the US government wont let us use them. Or put them on the docket for discussion at Congressional hearing. Don't ask me why. After all, you Libbies never make sense.

Ya know, I was going to simply pass on this lunacy, but then you decided to show your true colors. And yes the DOT and DEQ prohibit manufactures from producing unapproved equipment for vehicles. These technologies are some what common place over in the EU. VW has a GTI that get 75 MPG. It has 1.8l TDI engine and an Automated manual transmission. The combination of low end torque and and well design VMS are what are responsible for those wonderful numbers.

and its chicken littles like you that are always frustrated when those obstacles are overcome.I promise not to tell the FBI or whoever imposed that gag order on you that you divulged those secret plans for the 75 mpg car. I hope discussing it in public didn't get you arrested of tortured or whatever "they" do with their prisoners.have a nice:-)
