Lots of comments here that are simply not true. One said "built by 3rd world immigrants". And America was built by.....? Tsunamis? Can happen on any coastal property, they start thousands of miles away. Hot? Arizona is a hotter heat then Dubai, since the skies are clearer - Dubai's are a bit steamy/foggy in mid summer - I tanned less there than Phoenix. boring? Hardly, the malls alone would keep you busy like EPCOT center in Disneyworld. Don't knock what u haven't experienced.

Dubai is amazing, from an American traveler perspective....nothing like it in North American. Put aside the debt scene and you will find a highly intriguing state of the art modern city with lavishness unparallelled. Its clean, gorgeous, warm/hot (its winter there now, 60 degrees at night, 70s days..I was just there. Fairly diverse cultural background too. Next time I want to bring my kids and get them out of the American bubble of assumptions about other cultures.

Please visit Dubai before you write things like that as what you have written is not correct, this is not Saudi, women here are encouraged in business as leaders. Yes traditional dress is Black but that is the culture just as yours is as it is! Dont judge what you dont know..

And poor women always have to wear black from head to toe and sweat. I don't see the point in living in a place where temperature is over 70 and women have no rights...

Too bad the place is going bankrupt due to the economy. It's a corporation that is now $80 billion in debt... they over sold. This vid is 2 years old... things have changed there.

Dubai is beautiful! But I would hate to be there when the sea reclaims the land in the form of a hurricain or tsunami.Beautiful though, no doubt.

Do they still stone the women to death for infidelity (of course, not the men) and execute you if you are a homosexual? Lovely place to visit.
