Well, I began to play on a mouth organ and still think it's an excellent way to understand the melody and structure of a piece.Then you could play the melody on the guitar and at last join chords and melody.Greetings and thanks for commenting.

Beautiful finger-picked guitar work. Let your voice out more though. Anyway, you've managed to bring tears to my eyes with this old chestnut. If you can find it, Roger McQuinn (Byrds) did this on a twelve-string and with some pretty tight harmony singing backing him up. That version was released sometime around '73, so good luck.
