Lewis dominated. He should have won the fight. This is a blackeye for boxing in the United States. Hey, I love Holyfield, I always want an American to hold the belt, but we must be honest. Lewis won this fight hands down.

Well i'm a big Mike Tyson fan but I think in their prime Lewis would still win because of his size and reach! Pretty much how Tyson fought Lewis in their match was how Tyson pre-Buster Douglass fought. The only difference is a younger Tyson was fasters and had more head movement but Lewis vs Tyson really wasn't fair due to Lewis' 84 in reach and his status as being a super-heavyweight.

Sureee... man, you tyson fans delude yourselves... Buster Douglas didn't beat tyson, Holyfield didn't beat him, it was tyson who beat tyson.... man, get over yourselves. Name a great fighter tyson EVER beat. Tyson ran from the best... why didn't he ever fight Mercer? Or even tim witherspoon? Why did he run from Foreman? He ran from holyfield for years, and he ran from lewis in 1996. Tyson was so overrated and his fans are morons.

you want to be the best you hae to go get it. holyfield was initiating things. boxing is not a chess match. I think when tyson was 20 he would have beat holyfield and lewis at the same time. and ali, marcionio as well. tyson at his best was unbeatable

i agree on that , if ali retired after the foreman fight , we would be praisin him so much , but the fact is that no matter how big a fighter is , when he gets older and fights 2 or 3 fights too many , we burn him .look at oscar dlh , rjj , etc

@ DATCMOTO : The same could be said of Tyson. The mid to late 80's isn't exactly remembered for the quality of the heavyweight division. Tyson was a great fighter, but made to look invincible due to the low quality and general mess the division was in. There was no dominant personality (apart from Holmes in the early `80s) like there was in the 60's and 70's.Lewis deserves a lot more respect from people like you who have bought into the Tyson myth.

its all well and good to say that just because tyson wasn't in his "prime" it wasn't a fair fight but it doesn't always work out like that in ur perfect mind. they fought and the better man won which tyson admits

That is the biggest bullshit. Lewis clean out the division and has a Holyfield on his resume while Holyfield was a champ (by beating Tyson twice). Tyson doesn't have a great heavyweight on his resume who was in their prime. Larry Holmes was 38 and was coming off of a 2 1/2 year lay off. That is such bull shit statement. Lewis was the best for 7-8 year period. Tyson reign lasted 4 years. Could of, would of, should of dont mean shit. You either do or you don't. To be or not to be.

that lewis was old junk i crap. Klitschko retired at a staggering 34 yrs old as the champion. he came bk three years later at 37 and won bk his belt. 37 by the way is how old lennox was when he hung them up. klitschko is now 38 and still not only dominates but still has the belt. He still has yet to be knocked down, and still only has 2 losses. So not buying the old argument.

the lewis was too stuff is crap. Think about it, klitschko retired at a staggering young age of 34 as champion, came back at 37 and won the belt back. Which at 37 lewis retired. Klitschko is 38 now and still dominating his fights. Still has the belt and has still never been knocked down. Not buying that old crap. Lewis is a sometimer.

Lewis wanted tyson in 96 and the fight never happened, it went to court and lewis won loss of earnings so dont blame lewis for that.. tyson's prime wasnt even 96 it was more like 88.. bruno was the first man to rock tyson but that means nothing.. Lewis won this fight and will be remembered as the last great heavyweight
