principles is what has led to this situation in the first place. So in the short term, yes these people should be bailed out but the people should rally the government now to change policies so that we get well and truly away from a socialist corporatist society and back to a liberal one. I suggest to anyone to research Ron Paul. Of course compassion to all who suffered, that is not what this is about, it is about avoiding suffering in the future, not denying suffering has occurred.

This is a difficult situation where two ideologies are apparently in conflict when in fact they may well agree. The problem is this, ultimately in a liberal society, it is not right for the government to assume it has ownership over your money to take it from you and give it to those who are in need. Need does not equal right. You have a right to your life and liberty, but you do not need to be rescued. You have to take responsibility for yourself. HOWEVER, the lack of adherence to these

nobody shot at helicopters those were rumors. A lot of people couldn't afford to evacuate, and they didn't know that our government made levies would fail. My question is, why did it take 5 DAYS to get in there and start helping people? If you actually look at how FEMA and our president handled that you'd have a much different view.Taxpayers aren't paying for those homes because most of those homes aren't being rebuilt even people who had insurance the insurance companies aren't paying out.

So sad about your home, which we taxpayers will pay for - again, but you were TOLD TO LEAVE by your elected officials. I hope next time the idiots will listen to the warnings and evacuate (not loot & shoot at the rescue helicopters) - or maybe we should accept it as Darwinism takes over.

Its the leftist media who has lied. The UN states that the US found SCUDs in Iraq, the UN clearly defines them as WMD's. Its just the leftists control everything, yet they dont realize they are taking away theit own rights by shouting down anyone who critisizes islam.

Bush has violated the geneva convention numerous times, WMDs were never found because their were none. Also look at torture techniques used by the US on hostages and you'll find human rights violations. Iraq is not stable, and is a democracy because it was forced upon them by the barrel of a gun.

"LBJ (lied us into Vietnam and didn't even have the balls to see it through" true, But Bush also lied about a war and did so for war profiteering. Fail to see Carter's crappiness overshadowing Bush's. Bush still hasn't caught bin laden and did know about the attack prior to it happening. MUCH WORSE

Clinton also warned Saddam against aquiring WMDs and advocated using military force to stop him. Furthermore, WMDs were only one of many reasons Bush went to war with Iraq (other reasons including his violation of UN treaties, massive human rights violations, support for terrorism, etc). And just look at Iraq now; a stable government, free elections, strong military, etc (and all in only five years; we never came that close in Vietnam). Will continue later (curses small character count)

"Name another president that was worse." Carter (stagflation, Iran falls to Islamic fanatics, Iranian Hostage Crisis, etc), LBJ (lied us into Vietnam and didn't even have the balls to see it through, wasted seven trillion dollars on welfare and government programs that still haven't worked).Clinton was in office eight years and even declared Osama a terrorist threat to the US; he even missed several oppurtunities to capture or kill him. Continued in next post.

I do feel bad for those who lost their homes. Bush was blamed because people don't like him and it's easy to pass the buck for the mayor. He should have been first to blame and took none. Second person to blame is the governor of the state. Which hardly took any. Bush got the whole brunt of the blame. The mayor should have known the evacuation plan and followed it a few days in advance. New Orleans has had an evacuation plan for decades because they knew this was going to happen.

Well most of those living in that "shithole" were homeowners and lost their lives and/or homes. Bush was to blame for the loss of life and SLOW response after the initial flood same with FEMA, the mayor, & army corp of engineers. It was no loss to you but it was a tremendous loss to the people who lived their.

I agree. The kyoto treaty is just a way to make someone rich and it's not the United States. I wish this guy in the video just would say what he felt. Most of New Orleans that flooded was a shit hole. I know because I've walked through it before it flooded. Luckily I was in a large group so I didn't fear for my life like I would have if I was alone. Trust me, it was no loss. A shit hole with a piece of shit mayor who received zero blame when he should have been the first one to blame. WTF!!

The Kyoto treaty is a joke and even if everyone involved did what was required it still wouldn't affect climate change. It would, in the end just cost lots of money for no results. So it really doesn't matter who is on it or not.

Name another president that was worse. Here is a very small list of reasons why I think he is the worst. War profiteering, waging a war under false pretenses (which has cost us thousands of lives and hundreds of thousands Iraqi lives, trillions of dollars wasted, and ruined foreign relations), Ignored the evidence of an impending terrorist attack that cost us thousands of lives, a drastically declining economy. Thats just to name a few.

Hey, Bush is the one who is at least demanding the the world's biggest polluter (China) not be exempt from the Kyoto treaty before he ratifies it, whereas Gore didn't give it a second thought before signing it (thank God the Senate and the House killed it).

I'm not fond of Bush either, but I think it's going a little too far and ignoring history to say he's the worst president we've ever had.

Dislike them just as much. I think George Bush is the worst president in American history. Just because I think Al Gore is full of crap doesn't mean I am a Bush supporter. How very black and white thinking of you =)
