...as is the 'Trinchera Ranch' in Colorado which SOLD for $175 million in 2007 to a hedgefund manager. The US has far more expensive mansions than Updown Court, and so does London. Not too speak of other locations in Europe, like the South of France, where Villa La Leopolda was sold to a Russian billionaire in the hundreds of millions. Sorry for the essay, but Updown Court is in no way a contender for the world's real estate crown :P

...and that's the top end of that market, so no wonder nobody is prepared to fork over £70 million for this. The houses in Kensington Palace Gardens, Belgrave Square, Eaton Square and Inner Circle in London are the real top end in the UK. There are also plenty of homes in the US that are more expensive than Updown Court: Ira Rennert's Fairfield House in the Hamptons is worth $200 mil, according to records. Ron Perelman's 'The Creeks' in the Hamptons is also up there...

finally someone who understands the real estate market! this is nowhere near the most expensive home in the world, it's not even the most expensive in the UK. all the truly expensive and uberluxury mansions in the UK are situated in London (and not in Surrey). The real addresses are Kensington Palace Gardens and Inner Circle Regents Park. Updown Court is a complete rip-off, no wonder it hasn't sold. Mansions in Windlesham, Surrey where Updown Court is located cost no more than £2.5 million....

Isnt it interesting to see many rich people showing off their mansions? Have you wondered how many bedrooms, beds and space on a single that they can occupy at a time when they feel like sleeping? Interesting isnt it?It's good to be rich. We all have that DREAM.Food for thought, anyway.

Sorry..but your 170 MILLION DOLLAR House still does NOT even come close to the house being built by Mukesh Ambani, who is building his family a $1 billion home in Mumbai, India...Google his name and you'll find the article.

vissi, you struck the nail right on the head.think of the interest you give up when you splash out like this chokes the worth of it.on a lighter note tho, where would you travel to,m8?you sound like the hotel environment matters to you.

If it is ever sold, a Shah from middle east will buy it. That is what happening in Florida and New York.
