What a load of pap, anyone who knows anything about cameras/resolution & associated paraphinalia can easily see the test were designed to make the IXUS look as bad as possible, so much for a ballanced view, shame on you Gadget show no G's.

hmm... ive never tried the ixus line from canon, but i use the powershot a720 IS, and it is a absolute great camera. probably one of the best compacts on the market. I would like a slr, but i don't have the money. I've had great photos with the a720, but the only down side is the auto flash, which is not very good consequently.

And what is this "other" you are talking about? Images there you don't want sharpness, fast focus and a camera which is great in picking up light? Atleast the 850 modell got 28 mm wide angle lens, the 900 don't, does it?

I made my sister buy the Fuji F30 around new year and I wouldn't regret it, kick ass compact camera. Only decent alternative (but more expensive) would be the Canon i/ixus 850 IS I guess since it has wide angle lens and image stabilization. But then one can just jump up all the way to a Pentax k100D and get a real camera ;D

Because of this review I bought a f31fd, It's Brilliant!! I do a lot of my vids with it, I got it from Amazon April07 for £156 (free del) also bought a 2 gig card with it (£25) can't fault it for size & cost :)

The Canon is horrible for all round use. The pics from the Fuji are excellent, even in bright daylight. Afterall, photography is all about the light, and that's where the Fuji excels at, making it a much superior all rounder.
