But today surname means little to Chinese people, because changing of surnames was very common throughout the history.

Dude,It was almost a tradition since Spring autum era,by changing people's family name as their past kindom's name, after the downfall of their kindom. tons of example..such as, Qin..zhao...zheng... pS: since Han dynasty, chinese Han emperors had already forbid slavery. With similar culture and close blood relation,"掠地化民" policy were well carried out on gugoreans.

??Are you sure their surnames are Gao?most of them have become slaves....I thought they all followed the surnames of their respective masters?

Goguryeo is never a part of Korean history, when most of those gogureans were deported to Henan and southern part of China, though some escaped to Japan. modern day chinese with family name, Gao were those people;s offsprings. Don't even believe in those korean jerks'lies. According to Tang chronicle, Gogurean spoke different languages with those southern korean tribes. They are different people!

Except for korean history because their history records were all been destroyed by Japanese,so now they should be thankful to Japanese people who have gave them the chance of distorting Asian history

Gooks' ancestors were southerners who were probably came from southern China and SEA,but later also mixed with northern ethnic groups

> qkillqq said on 11-30-2008 at 05:27:
Therefore Goguryeo is no longer part of Korean history

Inferior gooks spreading rumours everywhere, eastern barbarians refered to eastern china region,Koreans may have some links with those ancient eastern china tribes, but you can't deny that most of them mixed into chinese

in case you have not noticed, 50 percent of China's growth comes from abroad. Instead of talking bs try to create and maintain a harmonious world as Hu always promotes.

u r right, in fact, many of them became "chinese" soon after. If you check the local dialect map of China, you'll see that the parts of China that had most diverse dialects were the south and southeast. Those lands in ancient time belonged to the "Yue" people.

it's not shang yang, it's Wei Ruan.

It is highly possible in his early days he was prsonally invovled in battle. All Qin people are fierce fighters, it's part of thier culture to fight. So, of course, he would've been exposed to all that. But, in his later life, he became so cowardly, and fears death to a point, that it is difficult to imagine that he might've been a battle field general.
