Nano technology should wipe out world hunger and the need for food one day. Plants can do it with the sun. Nano machines should have no trouble producing sugars and protiens for human cells.

good thoughts. I like the idea within the venus project of having no state. Using technology wisely and for the benefit all all humans and nature can truly remove the necessity for "the state" as well as fractional reserve banking (which is the epicentre of humanities problems)

The rats are jumping ship.CHEMRISK - a research company hired by the Corn Refiners has recently taken down it's YouTube page. The removal was in response to negative public perception resulting from the high-fructose corn syrup ad campaign. Apparently it has become a liability to defend the sweetener.See one of the last remaining ChemRisk videos at CornRefinersAssoc on YouTube.

he economic crisis, through its sheer scale and reach, is bringing about a wholesale change in the consciousness of working people the world over. The contradictions and weaknesses of this system are becoming plainly evident as capitalism buckles under its own weight. As always, it is the poor, the oppressed, and the workers who must shoulder this weight in order to hold up the privileges of the rich.

This is because the investors are too greedy. They will never bring down the commodity price even if the cost of these commodities goes down to earth. Greedy Investors will sooner or later create their own hell!!!!!

Do you contest the fact that the United States produces much more food than it consumes?Because if not, then I do not see why you are replying to me.The United States feeds FAR more people than Germany does, so that is why a German has no place criticizing the US on this matter.Germany is still a vassal of the US, by the way. As long as a US military presence in Germany doesn't require German approval, Germany is a second class state that can't even claim complete sovereignty over itself.

I believe that a large percentage of this problem stems from the world's over population and the callous attitude of the religious right in the USA. They would rather have babies starve to death than condone or help promote family planning. They are delusional into believing that God would have it this way too. To me this is a ludicrous and negative way of thinking. Prevention is a great and logical solution to our over population epidemic. We have to start now to begin to make a difference.

Totally agree with a lot of the comments below. What's needed in the developed world is nothing less than a revolution in how we live - less consumption of inessentials, more green spaces and local urban farming, and to back this up some strong government. What I find disgusting here in London is the amount of food people just put in the bin; they've bought way too much, and most of this organic matter could easily be composted.

Good point. Americans have been brainwashed by the word "free." What have become by running around everywhere looking for something free? Nothing's free. Everything comes with a price.
