I agree. There was no rivalry there. They were good friends. Great post.

In Interview Ric always admire Ben´s vocal+say if good voice is rqird, sing always Ben,but stopped writing such+ potential Single typ song for Ben. What he said+did was different. Ric wuld spotlight+Singles alone. Started deliberately writing song to pass his voice+sing capabilities(Ben can sing all easily)+very catchy w/visual effect for hit. I believe Ric was jealous. Ex.Think how was "Magic"Video, how much respect he showed to Ben. Then hear"Ric Silver" his tribute to Ben+see what he says.

I never understand where all the comments about Ric and Ben having such a big rivalry come from.In just about any interview I have ever seen, they have never been anything other than properly friendly, as bandmates would be.Any time a question about who sings which song was asked, the answer was always the same; whoever sang it better was the one who sang it on the album. And Ric is doing exactly what a rhythm guitarist is supposed to do; play his part, and enjoy the moment.

No so much. Ric Ocasek is just not one of life's great performers and never looks at ease on stage, ever. Plus Elliot Easton is playing the bulk of the guitar parts on this song. There's not too much for him to do on this one, besides play his part and visually appear awkward

Yeah, I noticed that. He was just standing there the whole time. I really think he was just PO'd about not getting to sing in this song... maybe he was protesting!

If my LP player had´nt been broken short after, probably listened thm earlier. Still have their LPs. Never heard Cars on radio during these time also.Almost depressed to see their Livevideos. Unfortunately never had chance to see them Live. All played super! Esp Ben is so phenomenal! Both singing+Bass. And he wasn´t even Basist in preCarsbands. He´s good at Bass/Leadguitar/keyboard/Drum, but looked for other excellent musician+let thm play all 4 positions +hd played frontman w/o instruments.

Most favorite band in highschool. Esp always loved Ben´s vocalsongs. Stopped hearing as I hate Ric´s big MTVhits + never heard them again till seeing Youtubesite in 2008 after long hesitation. Then can´t stop listening. Don´t know about others, but critics say most old fans left Cars at that time. Shocked to see quality of songs+ Live. Had thought they were good but didn´t expect so exceptionally good + special. At least their early works + Ben´s vocal songs shld get much more recognition.

This is the best stuff from the Cars. I always hated the stuff like You Might Think and Drive. But those first two or three albums were absolutely GREAT. I love the Vox bass. If you're a musician and ever play one you can appreciate how great Orr is to make it sound that good live. They are really shitty basses.

Just heard this song on the radio. It is better than all the other songs you hear on the radio.
