i am originally form England (going back at the end of this year) and as a 17 year old on provisional licence for a peugot 100cc scooter it was £640, so ye i agree with you that is a bit steep for a 50cc moped.

good point. although insurance in ireland is a rip anyway because the population is too small to allow for economy of scale. cheapest quote i can get for a 50cc moped at 21 with a provisional license is 700 euro $900 approx
