This is the so called "Makyo-uchi". It's abslutely unique, and no other schools use it. Katori Shinto-ryu was made for fighting on the battlefield with full armor. Because the samurai Helmet (Kabuto) is very wide, you cannot do direct strike from higher positions and stances. Makyo-uchi is cut-piercing strike and it has more advantages to other strikes. I hope that is enough :) If you are interested I'll post more information.

Whats the point in them cocking the sword back over the arm like that at 4:38 for example. They do it alot. I'm not a knowledgeable sword person and just curious.
