Brian did a great job on the chip for this truck! theres still a couple tricks he can do, but i will be changing to a larger throttle body in the future, so we got it close and stopped there for now.

thanks for the exhaust comments..she definitely sounds nice!9.7:1 on 87 octane isnt a problem- if you have a good engine builder!

Thanks! I had actually found the exhaust setup on Brian's site (TBI chips) right after I posted that comment. I already saw "scott at lkn". sick video. truck's exhaust sounds awesome. How are you able to run 87 octane with 9.7-1 comp ratio? I've heard that you need to run 93.I have a 93 K2500 with the 5.7 that I'm going to rebuild eventually. I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do with it. It will be a daily driver.

34 degrees total with the vortecs.....if youre running flat tops and a small cam with the TBI heads- try 36 degrees. if your compression is less or you have more cam, try 38........

i have the same type setup without the vortecs. how much timing do you run

thats damn impressive! Most of the power difference would be from the tranny....that TH350 robs LOT less power than these damn 700-r4s. also- I ran this engine on the dyno with a 600 Holley, and it made power up to 5700rpms. With the TBI and in the truck, it noses over at 5000- just cant breather with that little 2 hole TBI unit.

you need an intake that fits vortec heads, and they are available to bolt your tbi unit right to it. they are expensive...I used a carbureted intake and an adapter to use my tbi unit.........

will tbi vit anything thats vortec? well my other question is where do i buy the cam and lifters?
> lakenormanspeed said on

13:17:
stock crank is fine. a decent cam & lifters will run you about 160-200. heads are GM Vortec- you can buy them brand new from GM for about 550 a pair.
