They used dolphins to swim up to enemy boats and with explosives strapped to them would act as sea suicide bombers. Rather sick huh.

nope just trait selection, a simple experiment that acts as a fantastic example of artificial selection. just like dog breeders trying to create a new breed (with traits like height, docility, loyalty, etc) these are the results of the same kind of breeding techniques.

"The domesticated silver fox is the result of nearly 50 years of experiments in the Soviet Union and Russia to domesticate the silver morph of the red fox....As a result of selective breeding, the new foxes not only have become more tame, but more dog-like as well. The foxes have lost their distinctive musky fox smell, have become more friendly with humans, put their ears down (like dogs), wag their tails when happy, and have begun to vocalize and bark like domesticated dogs."wow.
