I had many children who only knew beatings and negative actions at home. they craved attention and the only attention they got was beatings. It was hard to get them to see other ways to act to get positive attention. They never knew kindness. Children need guidance and encouragement to see other ways to get the attention they need. It could take almost the whole year, but if i succeeded it felt good to change their view on their behavior.Consistency is crucial.

These things I find are too painful to read.I hate to see the young in such need. It leaves emotional scars but can be overcome with much love and encouragement. But some where inside the child will carry it forever. You just have to hope it doesn't manifest itself in a negative way. But being so young she may not totally remember if her experiences are good from now on. It is a hard road ahead. It's all she's known. She must see there is a better world around her.

Her mother is a prostitute and it is thought she was "hired out" for profit. has been arrested. Child is like an animal but getting better. No emotional connection though. Found by a neighbour who kicked the shack door in after hearing "cat in distress".Have you read Torey Hayden's books? Child psychologist who deals with these kids and writes heart-breakingly about their emotional scars and the breakthroughs she has with them. One feels emotionally battered after reading them.
