Description: There is a bug for me in Spore. On creatures I make with lots of details (spikes, maces, antanaes, etc...) It darkens mostly everything.Just watch the layers of paint go on one at a time. It looks good for a while but then the finishing touch is kinda nasty.I'm guessing it's something about my shader. I don't have vertex shader vs. 2 or Transform and Lighting. So does it try to shade it and end up...

I don't buy it. On the machine I'm using, Creature Creator 1.00 worked perfectly. As soon as I updated to Creature Creator 1.01, creatures that previously worked now have this paint bug.

I don't think it's a bug , your graphic card is probably not supported, it happens on one of my friend's computer too
