Very neat. I've met a student of Mr Bushey and was very impressed with his enthusiasm and insights into his training. I've also come across brandon-san's blog from the Lubbock group. You all have something outstanding going on in your path with Sekiguchi sensei. Happy training!

The scabbard is between the legs, so that motodachi does not move. Motodachi only gives the downcoming blade minimal way to pass through between the hands. The attacker´s aiming line for kirioroshi is the forehead, chest, cut the hands and stop hitting the scabbard´s koiguchi. The scabbard is there to have an actual aiming point in this setting. The goal of this is to develop a feeling for, timing, distance, loose fear of the opponent´s blade, precision of cutting...

Why the scabbard between the legs? Is it a "positive stop" to train position with tactile cues?Much respect to Sekiguchi and his students!!
