I've been to over 140 Nascar and Indycar races, all over the country. Those crowds are always very patriotic, and this was one of the best examples. I wish I'd filmed it. To their benefit the troops responded by walking even taller.

I was at the Indy 500 a few years ago, along Gasoline Alley, which overlooks the front stretch at the start/finish line. A group of maybe 50-60 soldiers was walking amongst the tens of thousands of people, towards me. Someone started clapping, and in less than 30 seconds most everyone in the entire facility was cheering, because the two big screens facing the frontstretch crowd were showing these troops walking along. It was truly a moving experience.

hey man, I think you are really mistaken. I am liberal and I serve in the armed forces. Get your sources straight. Not only conservatives serve in the military.

I don't support the war in the least...but I am serving my country no matter what the cost, war or no war, I need to give back what this country has given me. I enlisted in the United States Air Force about a month ago and now I am waiting to go off to basic military training and serve my country. God Bless America!
