"Noche Feliz" by 31-year old schoolteacher Franz Gruber is my most cherished piece..but I prefer it played in its simplest, original form (no arpeggiation or arpeggios, ornamentation, repeats played at half-volume mp or less...). It can be made more interesting by varying the dynamics and the tempo while still maintaining a solemn mood-the song's original, spiritual intention..I played this for a buddy of mine and he let deep sigh and said: "I just melt every time you play this song"

I never said it wouldn't look stupid..I'm just saying..people do it, I actually know several professionals as well as recreational classical guitar players who do it...:-\

hmm i don´t really know many that prefer to have natural long nails just to play guitar... I play classical guitar and I prefer to use fake nails, and i find it kind of dumb to let your nails grow, you only need the nails on the hand that you play with cause if the hand that holds chords and such has long nails they tend to get in the way and touch other strings and you would look stupid if you went out and other saw you with one hand with long nails and the other with really short ones...

A large number of guitarists (classical mostly) grow their nails out and shape them as necessary. As a guitar player who can't stand it when his nails get even remotely long I think this is a GREAT alternative.

some guitarist like using fake nails cause you get a smoother and stronger tone, it´s like having a plectrum for each finger :)
