I understand why people wanted Shannen to come back for the season 10 finale, but you gotta understand over the course of BH 90210, the format of the show completely changed after Shannen left, where as it was not about Brandon and Brenda anymore like it was in the beginning, it became more of a character-driven soap opera where the teen issues didn't matter anymore. so by season 6, 90210 was a completely new show. that's why it wasn't necessary for Brandon and Brenda to come back in the finale
