My mother is following commands, eating baby food, and now she is moving more than ever. It has been a year since her anoxic (lack of oxygen) brain injury and she has made it clear that she wants to live. THIS is the hardest thing ever. My mother decided to live, She is the strongest person I know. Don't give up! Follow your heart.

This is one of a hundred battles we've fought for our mother. We have fought off nurses, doctors, and other hospital staff that treated my mother like a freak I wanted to grab them, shake them and make them realize "WE LOVE HER! SHE IS OUR MOTHER! YOU DONT KNOW EVERYTHING! There is no alternative to home care. My sister and I are struggling to finish college, look after my disabled father, have a somewhat normal life, and stay healthy.

I know how frustrating this is. My sister and I have been fighting for my mother. We sat at a round table and listened as doctors told us that my mother would not be resuscitated if she went down.

This video hit home for me. My sister has a brain injury, and you and your son remind me so much of my mother and I and what we go through every day. I want you to know that next week it will be 1year since her accident and the doctors gave up on her. They told us to let her go, that she would never get better. Well she is at home with us, still on 24hr care, but is laughing, able to read signs that have commans on them and do what they say. So please don't give up on Sean.
