One more thing (then I'm done I promise) anything we do to "experimentally evolve" IS natural. The way that we evolved was with large heads and large brains as our most useful attribute. This allows us to change things to work to our advantage. Sometimes we screw up, but we also have the brain power to recognize that and attempt to fix it. We're always evolving, we don't get to escape from that, it just happens differently for us.

Of course, there's still evidence backing our relation to chimps and the idea of natural patriarchal societies, it just needs to be known that that isn't the only evidence out there, that new studies are being done constantly, and that there have been plenty of instances in history (and pre-history) of women having equal power and influence. It's also true that, as societies change, often so do gender roles. And things do change, naturally.

It's cultural and biological. Although there's evidence to suggest matriarchal societies in the primate world (outside of humans) in some monkeys as closely related (if not more so) to humans than chimps. This means that there's really no way to be sure what the roles for humans are supposed to be. Even in hunter gatherer societies the influence of women varied greatly. In some cases they had as much power, even more so than men, in others they were so low they were used as currency. (see next)

Mens power of the world is sadly enough NOT cultural, this pattern can be seen all over the world not only among humans but also in the animal kingdom, gender rolls was the thing that made the homo sapian species survive while the homo Neanderthals died. While men were the leaders and hunters, women gathered and nursed. The question is, shall we follow the natural pattern or should we seperate from it and experimentally evolve, take a chance, go all in and hope for the best?
