I worked with and lived near Brazilian immigrants for several years. I picked up some but lost it. It's not that hard if you are familiar with french, italian, or spanish. You're right, though... all those tenses and words with genders... oof!

ahaha i'm glad a lot of viewers want to learn portuguese (i'm portuguese). just a warning: portuguse is much more complex than english (not saying it's better). it's a language with a lot of different sounds (and unusual ones for english people) and different words. oh and the way the phrases are organized in portuguese are different than in enlgish. i think english people (people that speak english) have a lot to loose when they dont need to learn another language besides their own.
