I agree that the word religion suggest law and dominance now, but it comes from the latin word Religio which means conscientiousness or scrupulousness (exactness) - our lives should be conscientious and we should, leaning on Christ, be scrupulous in obedience to Him. The world will see itself reflected in us, and not Christ, if there is no integrity between our belief and our behaviour. Remember Paul's warning in Romans 2:17-29 can well apply to elements of the Scripture loving Church today.

Yet we have more than a relationship as we are used to, we are graciously seen in the eyes of the Father as He sees the Son. More than that, the Spirit of Christ dwells in us. So He who calls us to carry our crosses, will, if we are open to His leadership, carry it through us. He who calls us to preach the gospel with courage will, if we are open to His movement, preach the gospel of Himself through us. He can invade our soul and occupy our personality!

I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not, but I want to think you're actually seeing it help. Don't let that go. Let Him take over. I struggle with something entirely different, and I'm only very slowly overcoming, but it is only by His grace and love that I'm moving at all. Let Him take over. He will help, He desperately wants to. And remember, even in this lowest point, Christ and those who follow Him with all their heart love you still. Please, don't be afraid to talk to any of us.

God gives us free will, we trip on our own not because of God, but he loves us so much that through His Son He forgives us of all of our sins.

All you have to do is ask God for forgiveness and he will give it to you.

All you have to do is be willing to let Jesus take over. you dont have to wait till you find a pastor or anything, God is waiting for you now. Believe it and you will be forgiven. Then hook up with a church and all that stuff, but the initial stuff can be done all by yourself. God bless you
