Your opinion is not stupid, but you have a very small prospective: i personally prefer that riding remain a small kind of leaving and not a massive sport as you do... But there are a lot of economical interests around that you can't even think about them! Not just according to brands that make gear, think about the media (create massive event = sell advertising space), lifts operator (more ticket = newest lift), ect.. Shawn has nothing to do in that!
