If its just a standard LCD screen, it shouldn't hurt it by touching it with the soft plastic of the LED.

True, but if I do this, I'll probably hold the pen a bit from the screen. I'm just afraid that might make it a bit more inaccurate since you won't be holding ht pen at the same distance away from the screen each time.

Well, I did not touch my screen with anything :) I held the 'pen' some millimeters away from the screen because I had the same thoughts as you. But in the original video by Johnny Chung Lee he touches the panel and it works, too, so I think the Display panels are robust enough (unless you have a nail or something like this on the tip of your pen ;-))

The IR Led used in the Video was taken out of an old remote controller. In Germany (where I live :P) there is a online shop called "Reichelt". There you can get IR Led's at about 0,25€

Yep, it looks Like this :S BBBBBS BBBBBB LED ... WIIMOTES BBBBBSo if you are loking from the side, on the left is the Screen, then there is the battery with a switch and right of the battery is the IR-LED and far right the Wiimote ;)I will upload a photo of my "Pen" in some minutes.
