Sounds like a winner to me, if I could just get Microsoft to let me get a replacement CD. How much does a CD cost them in that kind of bulk anyway? About two cents? Maybe a couple pennies for the ink?

I got Vista for free when we bought this new computer last year when it first came out. We never installed it. We heard terrible things about it and stayed with out XP. Apparently Vista takes up alot of space and is combersome. I say stick to what works

I bought Microsoft Office when I bought XP Pro. The kid across the street stole my book of CD's though, so I can't re-load it.

You got THAT right! They release half-tested software and charge out the wahzoo for it. I hope Google's "Don't be evil" policy extends to YouTube. They suspended billybobjoe57's account so he had to open up under thesludgereport2 until they find that one, I guess.

Notice how they say Vista is so great, the latest and greatest thing, and yet they still want to charge you for the out dated versions. I far prefer XP to any of them. I'm on a mac now and I am not to happy with it.

Yes, it's abhorrent. I wish Google would come out with that operating system to compete with Microsoft that they've been promising. I paid for Windows, Windows 98, and Windows XP Pro and I would very much like it if I didn't have to buy another friggin' operating system from Microsoft.

that sucks about MS screwing you around like that, sadly I am not surprised at all. None of these computer companies honor their warrantees without a big fight.
