You make a valid point, the white candidate wouldn't be allowed to run if they went to a church like that. But some white candidates do go to churches where homosexuals and atheists are condemned and ridiculed. Don't get me wrong, I don't condone this type of behavior. But with any church you will find those parallels that discriminate a minority. The point that I was trying to make was how someone's religious views holds way too much power in today's US society.

Because if a white candidate was found to be going a church that said things like this about blacks (I compare Wright to a black version of the KKK), they wouldn't even let him run.

why does it matter what church Obama went to for 20 years? why is it such a big deal whether someone is Christian or Muslim or anything else in a presidential election?
