That's a sad fact. Many of you kids are a lot more intelligent and knowledgeable that you get credit for. Sadly your world is being destroyed by mine. I'm against the policies of those in power as well. I do all I can to fight for my children's future as well. There are those of us who care about your future.Cheers!

"- alot of you have challenges in your lives- that can make it hard to focus on school- but at the end of the day- there is no excuse for not trying- young people like you- across america- have it worse off- but they refuse to give up- They choose to take responisbility for their lives- and even when you're struggling-when you're discouraged, and you feel like other people have given up on you, don't ever give up on yourself" Im a student, and that just motivates me everytime I hear it =)

Im 18 and i'm a moderate. Obama is really messing this country up morally. He wants to allow abortion which is commiting murder and that's a huge sin. Also it's not fair to take money from people who actually did something with their lives and give it to the poor. Think about it this way, if this is how it is then why even have dreams of things you'd like acomplish to earn money if they steal it away right from you to give it to the people that don't do anything with themselves. That's bullcrap

This whole speech is Barack Obama, in the name of Arne Ducan and the Department of Education, passing the buck out of their desperation with the U.S. gov't's failure State education project. Though there is truth in what he is saying, the government claimed the necessity, or efficiency, of the Department of Education, and it hasn't shown. So now they're trying to pass the buck.

Compulsory schooling isn't ever very likely to accomplish that.

Technical skills may be given through these indoctrination camps, but this is only a side of it that functions as a pretext for gov't "education" programs and regulations and educational bureaucracy, as well as serve as opening an opportunity to indoctrinate. The whole gov't school, and compulsory schooling, thing creates a top-down coercive structure that, at worse, fails its students and aids the societal ruling class. And, at best, creates compliance and/or self-alienation.

"practiced compliance and 'crimestop' is given to the ruling class in trade for capital" --> "compliance and 'crimestop' is practiced in trade for capital.""And are called inadequate and lazy for not keeping up with the trade." --> "And those who do not are called inadequate and lazy for not keeping up with the trade."lol All those teens screaming pleasurably at this guy's face. Politics is always celebrity politics in a culture with a cult of personality.
