Nice, I just found out that the new cayman (non-s) did 0-60 in 5.1 when Car and Driver tested it. The Cayman S did 4.4 with Motor Trend. I definitely agree with you assessment though, it depends on the person. I have a feeling the base will be enough for me though. I also see why you like the Boxster-unlimited head room:)

If you want a car that can go hard when you push on the acceleration, cayman s will make a difference. Cayman s has a time of 0-100km of 5.2secs while the normal cayman has 5.8secs and while it may not seem a lot, if you are a driver who notices performance, it just may make all the difference but for everyday drivers who want an excellent cruising car and want to have fun when its time, the base cayman is a very serious sports car. I would personally go with the boxter series ;)

Plus the PDK shifts so nice. Sat i one the other day and even though manuals are awesome the PDK's shifting is just as addicting. Hard choices :)

i was replying to somebody who said the 370 Z would beat the shit out of the cayman s. The best test i could find only had the NISMO version compared. So if the nismo was 3.5 seconds slower, then surely the regular Z wouldn't even be close.

Quick question..Cayman or Cayman S? If you have the money sure the Cayman S is great. But I wonder if the base is 90% the fun. Lol I think the Cayman's taken over the 911 turbo thread:)

Guys, guys no reason to fight now. But honestly calling the Cayman, argubly the best drivers car that is daily usable is silly. I could care less if something goes around a track 0.0001 sec faster than the Cayman. I just want the car to match my mood. Few cars can do that. Sure a NISMO 370Z is a beast, but sometimes you just want to chill. That is what the Cayman is all about....being a race car or a comfortable cruiser. P.S. I love the expression on Steves face when he talks about the turbo:)

Really? Theres a motortrend test on here with the cayman beating the NISMO 370 Z beating it by 3.5 seconds around laguna seca. If the factory tuned 370 is 3.5 seconds slower i can't imagine how slow the base Z would be. I don't trust your opinion at all. I agree that'd I'd rather have an M3. But you seem incredibly delusional about the 370's actual performance. The Cayman is much better than you say it is.

No because no one would pay for a higher priced GT-R.It is also very unlikely that Nissan is earning much money with the GT-R. The development from scratch, the new assembly line were surely huge investments.

Yes, the Cayman S is costly. Of course its a Porsche, a German boutique car. It will not get U the best perf. for the $ compared to many other sports cars but PLEASE dont put Cayman S and the Z in the same sentence. It doesnt compare. The Z may have the speed and handing close to a Cayman on paper yes. But the handling manner and finnese of the Cymn isnt comparable to the Z. The Z's engine is coarse, and overheat if you track it, the brakes fade, the build quality is crap. U get what U paid 4
