Many Catholics were indeed courageous in saving Jews. One cannot help but wonder however if Pope Pius had instructed devoutly Catholic Marshall Pétain that antisemitic laws were immoral, sinful and contrary to the law of God and the Church, more Jews might have been saved

If it weren't for the Catholic Church, few if any Jews would have survived the Holocaust.Jews everywhere owe the Catholic Church an everlasting debt of gratitude.

1. the concordat has nothing to do with the HOly See and Nazi Party. It is about the relationship of two soveriegn states.2. What benefit can we get from formally excommunicating Hitler? more bloodshed? It is even possible that Hitler excommunicated himself. After the war, the church cannot excommunicate Hitler for he was already dead. Yet, the church was clear in condemning Nazi atrocities.

There was an SS report saying "It is obvious that the Catholic Church in Germany is opposing the natinal policy of attacking the Hebrew power. They are supporting Jews, helping them to scape, they are by all means helping them in their daily life, and therefore makes it easier for them to stay ilegitimatelly in the 3rd Reich. People in charge of this are clearly supported by bishops and they give Jews food, even depraving German children of it" ZS02121902

Hitler hated Crhistians and Catholics, he said, "Either you are German or you are Christian". "we will make priests to dig their own tumb". Hitler banned the practise of Catholicism, he took of the crosses from the schools,(Paul Johnson, history of Christianism), while the Baptist Church wellcame Hitler.Hitler said to Ludendrof in 1920 he had to hid his hate for Catholics. BTW on the 6th September 1938, he said "In a spiritual way we are all semitics"

The Church signed concordats with most European countries, most of them are still valid as the German one; it wasn't the sign between a regime and the Church but between a country and the Church. Anyway the prohibition for atholics to belong to the Nazi party was also still current (NSDAP), he signed 2 enciclicas against Nazism, one in 1937 in Germany and one in 1942 against crimes commited in Poland. He supported the bishops and priests who opposed Nazism and censorshiped the supporters.

BTW: you are mistaking your bullets, the Pope or the Ctaholic Church is not your enemy, actually we are in your side. Lefties, unbelievers and all those are the ones who support Palestinians and who are ill of antisemithism. Last week I attended a lecture in Madrid's university, a group of these bastards shouted "Jew pig" to the Israel's ambassador of Spain. Average Catholics hate what Nazism meant, appreciate our judeo-Christian heritage and are not against Israel at all.

As you may know when all this mess about the bissop started, all Churches, along Catholic countries gave a speech saying the duty of a Christian, a Catholic is to place himself beside the ones who suffer, so if we don't recognise the suffering of a whole group of people, we are not following the Gospel and we will have to answer for that in the final judment. You can't blame a man who was a child studying at a seminar for what his elders did.Nobody could choose between serving or not in the army

He has correct the bishop saying denying Holocaust is unfair, a mistake, and a sin of not placing yourself as a Christian besides the ones who suffer. Christians don't expell the ones who sin, but try to take them to the right path. He never served in NAZI flak regiment, because falck regiment wasn't nazi. He served in the army as all male older than 11 in Germany. Actually he scaped from the army. You don't like him because he is German and you are not being fair.

He has made tens of comments about the horrour of the Holocaust. You can't expect him to repeat always the same words, & if he does not, think it has a hidden intnetion. He has been clear condemning the Holocaust. He reinstated several bishops who had separated from the Church decades ago, creating a cism, he tried to avoid division, as all Popes. I think this particular bissop is a son of a bitch, but excomunion is a theological punishment, not for political ideology or any other sort of sins

I'll say more, your president Roosevelt didn't move a finger to stop the Holoucast, this is obvious, he could have ordered to bomb Austwitch or the the train rails, but he did not. The jew people in USA asked him millions of times to stop what they already knew was happening. He didn't admit in USA the 937 Jewish passengers of the St Louis and sent them back to Germany.

The Catholic Church HAS NEVER supported Nazism, actually many Jews were saved through Churches in Italy, Romania and other countries. NEVER has the Church denied Holocaust. NEVER. Many priests payed this support with thier lives. You are a bigo, a lier, an illiterate and your statements are evil.
