I'm sorry maa'm. But your comeents are bass ackwards. To call her a bigot is a little out there. Asking "Who is Obam" was a political ploy. As far as reading, in Alaska, the people do not have access to the same tabloid BS that we are subjected to. C'mon... do you HONESTLY believe that she had no idea who Obama was? You need to calm down and take a breather. I didn't vote because there wasn't a worthy candidate. I thank you for your input, but get with the program.

On her ability to read, she had to hire three people to read the report from the US Wild Life service. Additionally, please read the transcript from Katie Couric's interview where she cannot name ONE NEWSPAPER or MAGAZINE she has or CAN READ. Before believing in that STUPID BIGGOTED BITXX perhaps you should do some research. She kept asking "WHO IS BARACK OBAMA" at her public appearances, maybe if she READ A NEWSPAPER she would know who he was.

hmmm.... I think you are mistaken. Give me a link where she said she wanted to hunt Polar Bears from the sky.... And I do believe that she can read. All in all, who cares? She's not in the White House and nor will she ever be. Show me some PROOF that she cannot read.... This is ridiculous that you would make allegations such as this without offering proof of said allegations. I would also suggest that you do your homework on the matter before posting.

More importantly she is using her office to furhter her own agenda of hunting polar bears. LOOK WHAT SHE HAS DONE TO WOLVES. It was disgusting to see her wearing a polar bear pin during the election. Since we knew she tried to get he polar bear taken off the protected list. And you should read more about what she has done to the Beluga Whale population in Alaska. The oil and mining run off into their water is killing them.

They are on the protected list, and and that BITXX Palin wants to allow them to be hunted by airplanes just like the wolves. SHE IS STUPID, she had 3 Scientists read the environmental reports and tell her that the polar bears would be extinct by 2050. LOOK SHE IS SO STUPID SHE THOUGHT AFRICA WAS A COUNTRY and not a Continent. SHE CANT EVEN READ!

No offense but environmentalists should focus their effort and money on protecting the rainforests. Protecting the home to tens of thousands of species is a much greater priority then saving the few score of arctic species. How much effort is spent protecting virtual deserts while the Amazon burns?

whats the point??what does it matter if any US president is polar bear friendly considering that 2/3 of the worlds polar bear population lives in a foreign country (Canada). Canada's prime minister saying this would make sense.

It is also the most important onshore denning habitat for America's vanishing polar bears. And now President Bush has called for drilling in the Arctic Refuge by 2010 in his new budget proposal! We need to permanently protect the Arctic Refuge!

I totally disagree with the comments below! Polar bears are growing thinner now and have less access to feeding grounds because the Arctic Ice Cap IS melting! Where did you get your information? You must work for oil & gas companies! SAVE THE POLAR BEAR NOW!

In 1950 there was an estimate of 5,000 polar bears. Now since y2k theres and estimate of 25,000, more of a population increase than an extinction

"Furthermore, IPCC just as clearly states "Current global model studies project that the Antarctic ice sheet will remain too cold for widespread surface melting and is expected to gain in mass due to increased snowfall." It would take anyone with internet access no more than a few seconds to download the summary from the IPCC website, but once again, the facts are too inconvenient regarding what is reportedly happening in Antarctica according to the greenhouse advocates." quote

There are more polar bears than ever. That whole "save the polar bear" is a scam, they are doing fine. Another excuse to stop developing our resources, we are all paying through the nose now because of the wacko greenie scare tactics. Someday we are all going to end up living in caves and fighting over weeds to eat before you people are finally stopped.

Today is World Earth Day. First celebrated in April 1970 as a means of sensitising people about the environment, over the years the Green movement has gained many supporters. No doubt former US vice president Al Gore's book Inconvenient Truth (also a successful movie) and the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize for Al Gore and the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change have helped raise awareness.

Without urgently needed protection, all of Alaska's polar bears could be extinct in less than 50 years -- along with two-thirds of the world's entire polar bear population. But there is still hope if the Bush Administration takes action now.SOS
