I'd liek to add that unless you keep your PS3 in a freezer, you might want to avoid putting in a 7200rpm (or more) hard drive.More than 5400rpm will just get too hot for your ps3 to handle.

Ok fanboy fag. I thought the same, but after 3 360s I decided to move to a more open ended device. Yeah. I'd like to see a 500gb 360. Not gonna happen. And the "more games" arguement is about 2.5 years old. Who wants to play halo or farcry anyways? Seriously? Any relevant game is released on both consoles. Exclusives? Gears of Gay2. Wow. Awesome. Sorry dude. I have a 700+ movie collection on a FAT 32 formatted 1tb external HD. Top that Mr. 360.

I'm an IT developer and I know great ways to modify your PS3. If you take the hard-drive out and put tin-foil over the connection, then put it in the freezer for about 30 minutes then touch a male USB port connector to the tin-foil you can upload a New Operating System. Then you take a hammer and smash the PS3 and screwdrive it out a window. This Operating system is used by Microsoft in their superior console called the Xbox 360.

yes! everything, video's,pics music, but you have to have something large eough to back up too for instance if you had 45gb of stuff on your ps3 than it will take 45 gb to back up. Accounts, friends etcetc is not on your ps3 per say its stored on servers.
