The reason this clip is so significant is that Peter Kay was Parkinsons warmup man for years - he would walk amongst the audience cracking jokes before the cameras rolled - a disheartening job because he was never seen on screen. I worked at YTV at the time and he used to joke "One day, I'm coming down those stairs, you mark my words" I think they genuinely like each other. Parkie had a massive show in the 80's so it was really a dream come true for Peter and his nan for him to appear.

different comedians appeal to different audiences - Peter Kay is funny to a certain level, I suppose if you like his kind of "funny" then great, this is the comedian for you.He makes me laugh a little, but by far I prefer comedians like Billy Connolly and Lee Evans. Pure gold for me.

Its never a matter of whether a member of the public can do better or not, its how good they are compared to other people of their profession. People are allowed their own opinions, I find Peter Kay funny, but hes not at all my favorite, I find that many other stand-up comedians make me laugh a lot more. Everyone has a different sense of humor.

I'm not a stand up comedian!!! and lets face it 95% of the videos on YouTube have 5*! I've heard Peter Kay is hilarious so I thought I'd check him out, I've now watched a good few videos and I cant believe he has such a huge following, I find his stuff terrible! Max & Paddys was a great show!
