ay akala ko ang Tagalog ay dialekto kagaya ng IIlocano, Kapampangan, Bisaya etc. at ang Tagalog ay gamit ng mga tao na taga Batangas, Bulacan Cavite , Laguna at ibang part ng Bataan at kung saan2 pa. yung bang Katagalugan Region mostly sila ang gumagamit ng Tagalog..

Yah tagalog is our national language and the word Filipino is our nationality. Tagalog language is belong to meso-malayan-polynessian luzon language which has small similarity to indonesia and malaysian language.Cebuano and other dialect is belong to meso malayan polynessian language which is very similar to brunie and malaysian language. Tagalog is little far different from malay language because we have our own unique language even before the settlers from other country came.

Visaya is not a dialect actually, those people living in the visayas is what we called bisaya and can speak cebuano illongo, waray etc. but there are some places in visayas and mindanao claiming that their language is binisaya like misamis oriental and butuan city. And one more thing Cebuano dialect is the second largest spoken in our country, Dont be confuse between cebuano and bisaya, it has a big difference.

I want to correct you aine12 if you wont mind. The word Filipino is the new conventional term reffered to all filipino in descent born in the philippines or outside. The word Pilipino is old traditional conventional term with same meaning as Filipino. While Bisaya is not actually called as a languge, it refers to the people who was born and lived in the visayas region and can able to speak cebuano, ilongo, waray, hiligaynon and bol-anon according to thier respective places. OK PEACE EVERYONE...

filipino can be referred to either the people of the philippines or the language itself (based on tagalog). this is one of two major languages, the other being the english language. the minor/local languages include cebuano, etc. meanwhile, dialects are variations (minor differences in accents/words) within those major/minor languages. im no linguist but that's what i have gathered from wiki and other sites. nehoo, i love YENG!!! ^_^
